I used Tiltbrush and Oculus Rift to design these Huckleberry bushes for a client with IM4 Media Lab; Tracey Kim Bonneau. She said she wanted to do a new project about Huckleberries with a berry picking song. After listening to her project goals and ideas, I offered to design new 3D Huckleberry environment with berries that react to audio for the client to use with her future projects. The client agreed, so I set out to make new 3D Huckleberry environments for her.
I had never seen nor tasted huckleberries before so I immediately looked for every photo, video and description I could find to help me design and sculpt Huckleberry bushes and berries to be used in XR projects. The 3D Huckleberry environment I ended up designing, went on to promote the client at the Vancouver Mural Fest as augmented reality and in many of the client’s presentations.
Here are videos and screenshots showing the 3D design aspect of my XR production process with TiltBrush in an Oculus Rift VR device. I also used Unity3D with the Oculus and SteamVR SDKs to produce VR experiences to be distributed in the Oculus and SteamVR store.
