I referenced a 2D image by to create a new 3D model and textures using Maya and Adobe Substance Painter.  This post shows my final results along with the work in progress screenshots.  My first work in progress social media posts can be found online here and here. I found the reference image online and had some difficulty finding the original artist at first: eventually I did find them and they provided written confirmation that they were ok with me referencing their image for my 3D project. I did not strive to create an exact clone and focused on learning to improve my modeling, texturing skills while learning a new technique here for hair & grooming.  I’m most happy with the results of the flowers, flower buds modeling and texturing. This is the first model where I created a face with Maya and it was challenging to learn the techniques for the face features and to do the uv mapping effectively. This is a ’final project’ that I did with guidance from Think Tank Training Centre online course for 3D Asset Creation in the spring of 2022.

WIP: 4 week final project. I blocked out low poly shapes, environ and lighting. I'm using maya, xgen, vray, zbrush for this project. This is inspired by the wonderful artist libzed - check out their 2D Art at https://www.instagram.com/libzed/
